My name is Adam DeFranco. I am one of the editors of the Wisdom Newsletter which is an Ezine and goes out quarterly to an ever growing number of spiritual seekers and disciples on the planet.  Being also a firm believer in Planetary evolutionary processes I with some others recently (2008) purchased 200 acres in northern California with the 'inspired' intent to bring together a group of like-minded seekers for an intentional community. We also see and intuitively recognize certain Ashramic schedules and seek to one day establish a new age retreat and teaching center geared to community and also preparatory via specific meditational alignments which would vacillate the initiatory process and create closer conscious awareness of our inner group contacts.

A certain hope I share with many others is that the inner dynamic workings of our inner group life be moved to an expressed out-picturing into the world and work of everyday affairs. That as we move to spiritual expression in life and as we become the Incarnate Soul we make contributions to our community which carries the Ashramic frequencies and Wisdom outward to guide and transform the world we live in.

BG: Were you born into a "spiritual" or religious family? How did your family background contribute to your spiritual journey?

I was born and raised within the vicinity of New York City which I was reminded of recently is one of the Planetary centers.  Besides being a Planetary centers it is also US National throat center and as grew up within its radiatory influence have been influenced in many ways which I am coming to realize. As a young boy I attended St Benedict's Catholic school. Here, even with all its strict disciplinary principles and actions, attended by nuns and lay teachers I grew to be immersed in a religious environment of Saints and sinners, angels and devils. Here devotion and spirituality was mixed together and it was not uncommon for a saint's visionary experience to be discussed and meditated upon. Even though I was only 11 when we moved further out from the city I was deeply impressed with 'higher', transpersonal world view of life and religion. Till this day a similar current of thought and ideas which I experienced then still moves thru me today. (Photo is of Adam and his parents taken in 1952.)

BG: What age were you when you started thinking of spiritual or esoteric matters?

When I was young I experienced certain visionary states in and out of sickness which brought to bear this understanding even though very young that there is much more to life than we recognize. Catholic school was a religious theatre. When we entered church or prayed in school we entered and were taught altered states of consciousness. School was difficult and we were taught this mixture of heaven and hell which took years to reconcile as I grew older and wiser. As I was 'almost' an altar boy and spent many hours in church I had unusual experiences and intuitive feelings. When I received confirmation at 7 or 8 years old I was briefly taken out of body and saw myself in front of the Christ and Saints. It was He in a sense that 'touched me'.

BG: When did you consciously step onto the Path, and what were the circumstances?

Growing up with a certain mystical bent of nature did not allow me to sidestep the experimental inquisitiveness of the hippy and drug culture. But this was put aside and by 28 when I picked up my first copy of "Letters on Occult Meditation" by Alice Bailey and the Master DK, I was verily transformed overnight. I started to meditate every morning, rain or shine. Having 2 young children at the time did not hinder me nor did the weather. I say this because it was fall when I was really hit with the meditation bug and had to find some location away from the children for quiet. I decided to build a rustic 'lean to' with poles and tarps and every morning would head out to its serene location by the edge of the mountain meadow. The first few weeks were extraordinary and I was lifted up to see all sorts of spiritual experiences. Then all settled down and for many months only work, discipline and silence. Not so much as a mouse came to say hello. My wife at the time wondered how I fared in the rain and snow but said I was 'protected' from above.

BG: In which group of world servers do you think you belong? why? In what way are you currently serving humanity?

Over the years the mystical experience has expanded and refined itself to become more intelligible and reasonable.  I now know a more occult sense of reality and of the 'real environment'. That we are all Souls in incarnation is readily said by many today but there is a sense of oneself that is rooted from an epicentre of consciousness which is Ashramic and group consciousness. Today I sense myself to be part of what is referred to as the Ashram of Synthesis. This ashram is ' a place in consciousness' with members in and out of Incarnation. It is an international group with an Ashramic center composed of the Master Morya, the Master DK and the Master R. This group seeks to manifest and incarnate the next step of the Divine Plan. Much of this work assists in the creation of the new planetary civilization and also to facilitate the Incarnation of Humanities Soul, in force and en masse.

BG: What would you say is your most important work so far?

I have been encouraged to finish a book of poetry  and there are various poems I have seen published here and there but lately I have been working on an article titled, "Ashramic Objectification''. This will come out shortly in the next 2 months and focuses on some of the newer ashramic centers being created in the Western hemisphere as the Hierarchical focus shifts from the eastern stronghold to the West.

BG: What is your spiritual goal for the future?

Of course, as many disciples I seek to serve the Christ Maitreya Buddha in his work of the Externalization and of his Reappearance. Yet for me this is less of a religious response and more of a growing ability to work with many groups of people to empower their own sense of spirituality.

As of the last 6 months we have been seeing a growing number of local spiritual seekers join our full moon 'Light Workers Gatherings'. Each month there is a growing response and receptivity from those in the local community and more and more attend. It is our intent to continue to be inspired and to inspire. This Sept. 2009, we join our many co-workers in the LA area for the 2nd annual 'Wisdom Gathering', a conference of those affiliated with the Ashram of Synthesis and the teachings of Lucille Cedercrans, Alice Bailey and others. Besides teachings this work ourselves of L. Cedercrans and with our Wisdom Newsletter, the local 'Light Workers Gatherings', the building of our intentional spiritual community and Wisdom classes, our lives are full and more purposeful.
