Tom Carney is a student of the Ageless Wisdom, and shares the way he views the world and life through insightful essays, primarily through online magazine ‘Thoughtline’ www.meditationtraining.org/thoughtline/thoughtline.htm, and through Arcana Workshops. Resident in the USA, Tom’s articles challenge the reader to view life from a more universal perspective, from a Soul perspective, and they contribute greatly to the illumination of the consciousness of humanity, bringing in as they do, inspired thought and wisdom. Tom kindly agreed to answer a few brief questions for Brisbane Goodwill.
BG. What age were you Tom when you started thinking of spiritual or esoteric matters?
TC: When I was about 10, I became aware, rather rudely, that I did not think the way everyone else did. I cannot remember a time in this incarnation that I did not function from an “esoteric” point of view. When I figured out that I was living among the insane, that I was not in step with the others, I sort of went underground, developed a rather pugnacious outward appearance for cover and personal protection.
BG. When did you consciously step onto the Path, and what were the circumstances?
TC: I realized probably around 20 or so that I was actually going somewhere, that what was going on around me was not where I was going. This is not conscious awareness of the “Path” as we say in traditional esoterics, but I think it is actually how 80 or 90% of those who are on the Path, that is who are involved in the work of the Great Salvation work. I was thunderstruck by Master Plato’s Allegory of the Cave which I encountered in a philosophy class when I was about 22 or so. I knew then that I had been on the “path” from the get go. And I knew what my task was. [In Plato’s “The Allegory of the Cave,” he suggests that there are two different forms of vision, a “mind’s eye” and a “bodily eye.” The “bodily eye” is a metaphor for the senses. While inside the cave, the prisoners function only with this eye. The “mind’s eye” is a higher level of thinking, and is mobilized only when the prisoner is released into the outside world. This eye does not exist within the cave; it only exists in the real, perfect world.]
BG. There are ten world server seed groups.

In which group of world servers do you think you belong? why? In what way are you currently serving humanity?
TC: All groups. I spend a lot of time thinking, as opposed to data processing. I am compelled by 7th Ray equipment to manifest what I think. [BG: the 7th Ray is the ray of Ceremony, Order and Magic, and is called the manifesting ray.]
BG. What would you say is your most important work so far?
TC: Maintaining the vision.
BG. What is your spiritual goal for the future?
TC: The salvation of humanity,
BG. What do you think is the most important matter to address on earth, the greatest problem man currently faces?
TC: The Great Lie.
[BG: Here it seems that Tom is referring to the manner in which mankind’s perceptions and subsequent actions are distorted because of the Great Illusion – which occurs when the world in which we live is viewed as being separate from divinity. This is the state in which most men and women live out their lives. The following paragraphs are taken from Tom’s article “Choices”.]
“.. systems of control—either overt through the force of arms or power, or covert through the force of fear, the use of the lie, or the use of psychic manipulation of one kind or another—that force or impose the views of one on another, that limit or take away a person’s right to exercise free will, are dehumanizing. Some of the most insidious and effectively repressive of these systems, are virtually invisible and operate on a line of least resistance. These are social, economic and religious systems which, initially, were probably put in place by force or fear, but which have been in place so long, they have gained cultural status.
Examples abound, but perhaps the easiest to see are the race lies that proclaim the superiority of one race over another, the myths of male superiority and female inferiority, and the notion that only those who subscribe to certain religions are God’s children, the others being infidels, heathens, or what have you. These kinds of cultural systems are part of the Great Illusion. They constitute the substance of a number of the veils that hang between humanity and the Kingdom of God. These illusions split humanity into benighted pieces. They deny the light of essential divinity and free will to each side, for in the very instant that one acts to deny the free will of another, one denies his own free will. BG: .. and what should people do to address this matter?
TC: Think more, process data less, Do not Doubt, do not believe anything, do not disbelieve anything. Discover the Way through experiment, experience and expression.
BG. How would you define the so-called Reappearance of the Christ? What advice would you give so that people can assist this process?
TC: Advice giving is not that helpful. Usually people, even though they may see that it makes sense, are not able to implement it and it just adds to their problems. I know that we cannot avoid being evoked. What I do is share what I have discovered through a lot of experiment, experience and expression. It’s like trail notes, and it concerns the particular trail I have been moving up. This helps to reveal conceptual aspect of the One Path which may or may not at the moment. It require application, experiment, experience and expression. It not advice. Forget the ecclesiastical overlays. For the most part they have been produced by the generators of the Great Lie. Try to realize, that is to know through experiment, experience and expression that Christ is a state of consciousness. “Christ in you the hope of Glory” are not empty words. They contain the entire future of humanity. Christ has been reappearing for centuries here and there in individuals, and is now rather rapidly appearing in very large numbers of human beings.

The purpose of Arcana Workshops is to provide the training, atmosphere, companionship and service opportunities necessary to link human aspiration with the overshadowing spiritual realities. I am open to whatever comes. I have managed this long because somewhere along the line I developed an acute sense of discrimination. I vaguely remember that somewhere, in some ancient incarnation, I was told to discriminate or die a thousand deaths… a little at a time.. Although one has experienced several deaths in the current incarnation, (death happens on a lot of levels besides the dense physical, and to be honest, the deaths we experience on some of the other levels make the prospect of physical death seem like a picnic.) one is learning and so far seems to have it relatively worked out.
