Prepare for Meditation

Meditation Tips from Brisbane Goodwill

1.     Meditate in a quiet spot.

2.     The same spot used daily will build up a shell of protection.

3.     Early morning is best time for meditation.

4.     Make your meditation space beautiful and fragrant
– Use incense, flowers, a photograph or statue of an enlightened Master or Buddha.

5.     Burn a candle, to purify the atmosphere.

6.     Sit comfortably on the floor or sofa, ankles crossed, hands on the knees or clasped.

7.     Or sit on a chair, feet parallel on the floor, or ankles crossed.

8.     Posture: Balance your head comfortably on your neck, ensure there is no tension in your jaw or body. Hold the head level, or the chin slightly dropped.

9.     Eyes are normally closed, though may be opened slightly (looking downwards) to help stay mentally alert.

10.  Aim for ease of posture. Keep the back erect, straight but relaxed, perhaps slightly leaning forward.

11.  In the early stages, fifteen minutes is an ample time to meditate. The point is not how long you meditate, but whether the practice actually brings you a certain state of mindfulness and presence. Five minutes of wakeful alertness is of far greater value than twenty minutes dozing!

12.  Daily Meditation is the goal.

13.  If you fall asleep or space out during meditation then here is a tip for you. Prepare your meditation atmosphere as recommended, with a written meditation on your lap. With your eyes open most of the time, go through the stages step by step, endeavouring to remain present and focused at all times. Keep your finger on the place you are up to at all times. Endeavour to feel the spiritual points of the meditation.

    my email id: kanchanbin@gmail.com
    Please assist me in meditation.

  • Yes – there are 2 books I recommend – “Light of the Soul” by Alice Bailey which is a rendition of Patanjali’s Raja Yoga – spiritual development through mind control – meditation is primarily intended to be a discipline to control the mind so that spirit can pervade the consciousness. It is a complete spiritual development manual – work through each sutra step by step. The other book is “Buddhist Meditation” by Samdhong Rinpoche. If you give me your email address I will send you information. L

I do meditation daily during morning hours in a open space under the sky. I really have good experiences but I am unable to predict what actually they mean to me. I usually visualize different shades of red filling my view area. other time purple. Does this mean anything?
Can you please guide me in meditation, Thank you.

It pays to start from somewhere. I love to think or rather meditate with rightfull visualization on those coming after me after realising what help I have gained and exeperiencing from the invisible agents of the GREAT ONES as i fly or rather ride in the BEAMS OF LIGHT of various illumined radiated rays before realising my present purpose that ihave rebelled against without the penalty from the Hierarchical observer that could be nothing to count on as i get more Light. After some period of  TRIAL Meditation becomes the tools of cosmic ordering after  discriminatig analysis of the perceived HINTS either  with Glamour  or Illusion coloured by Ones Soul Group 's level of functioning with or without ITS senior Disciples

  • Thanks, that is a very good contribution. I found it via Yahoo and immediately incorporated into my feedreader. I am pleased to soon be back here to read again! greetings

  • Julie – re meditation space. I use coloured candles – each month the colour of the ray(s) which flow through the sign the Sun is in. If the information is not on the web, contact me again and I will give the colours for each ray. But white is always an okay colour. I like good quality incense (granuals) which can be purchased in my city at the Catholic Store. I also really like burning lavendar oil – pine is also a great purifier. L

What kind of incense do you suggest? Is the candle usually white?
